Essie Bikini So Teeny

Happy Monday! I stopped by Target the other day and they already had the Summer 2012 Essie collection out, even though my press info says it isn't due out until June! Of course, seeing the new shades totally made my day. I exercised my willpower though and did not purchase any myself, but DBF was nice enough to buy one for me. :) I let him pick the color and he chose Bikini So Teeny.

Bikini So Teeny is a really pretty polish with a really annoying name. Despite the silly moniker, I do like the polish itself. It is a bright cornflower blue, with some white in the base but not enough to make it a pastel. There is also some subtle shimmer, but I had trouble getting it to come out to play. Here I am wearing 3 thin coats, but I think you could get away with 2!

See the shimmer in the bottle?

So... even though this color has a stupid name and shimmer that just doesn't show up, I *still* really like it. It's a unique shade of blue and it makes my hands look very tan. Plus it was a gift, which makes me like it a little extra.

China Glaze Turned Up Turquoise

Tonight I wanted to show you one of my favorite polishes of all time. This is Turned Up Turquoise, and it is part of China Glaze's core line. Turned Up Turquoise is one of those polishes that is so bright it just glows on the nail, and the vibrant color definitely attracts attention. Plus, it has gorgeous silvery shimmer throughout, but is not streaky at all. Basically, it's perfect.

Application is a breeze as well. I wore two thin coats in these pictures and it looks great. One thing to mention though -- this polish dries to a satin matte finish. In my photos, I am wearing one coat of Seche Vite to add some shine and longevity.

Isn't it so pretty? There is nothing negative about this polish in my opinion. Turned Up Turquoise is your quintessential perfect China Glaze lacquer. And, yes, I am in love with this baby!

My first ever Saran Wrap Nails!

So, I have been seeing this new look around lots of blogs. It is a really beautiful look and it is really easy to do! You just scrunch up some Saran Wrap, dip it in a drop of polish, and dot it onto your nails. It gives a cool sponged, tie-dye type of look.

For my version, I used three of the new Salon Perfect polishes I was recently sent for review: Purple Sorbet, Plum Sorbet, and Blue Raspberry. I guess I was just really drawn to the cool colors :) I started with a base of Purple Sorbet, which is a medium light purple. Then I used Saran Wrap to add a layer of Plum Sorbet and Blue Raspberry.

I am really happy with this look. It was easy to achieve but it definitely is more special than your average manicure. Have you tried this look yet? If not, get on it! :) It is so easy and super pretty!

Salon Perfect Tangy Tangerine

Wow, it's already May! After all that blue I wore in April, I was absolutely dying to get another color on my tips. Luckily, I recently received the new Salon Perfect line and had lots to choose from. Though I hope to get a full collection review up here soon, take a look at the first one I wore: Tangy Tangerine.

Salon Perfect Tangy Tangerine is a bright orange jelly crème polish. This is a completely new line, so I did not know what to expect. I was happy to find that application was easy as pie. Tangy Tangerine was totally opaque in two thin coats and the finish is very shiny.

This orange does have a good amount of red in the base, but it is still definitely orange. I held it up to a red from the Salon Perfect line called Spicy Tomato, and it was clearly quite different. Expect more reviews of this new line soon!
