Aly Loves Lacquer

Here is another classic blue polish. Dating a Royal is one of my most favorite OPI's. It is a medium royal blue jelly crème that applies wonderfully in 2 coats. I really like the color because it is bright without being too attention-grabbing. Like a neutral blue, if there is such a thing!

I added a bling accent nail with Kleancolor Afternoon Picnic. Kleancolor makes some amazing (and cheap!) glitters, and this is one of them. Afternoon Picnic has a super sheer gray base and TONS of glitter. Multiple sizes of hex glitters, and lots of different colors. I see silver, pink, blue, gold, green, and orange! I kind of dabbed it on, as opposed to your traditional painting motion of nail polish application. What you see is 2 "coats" of the glitter over 2 coats of OPI Dating a Royal.

I am so in love with Afternoon Picnic. The glitter is stunning! So many different shapes and colors of hexes! I will say that Kleancolor polishes take a while to dry on me. Because this glitter has some larger hexes, I added 2 coats of Seche Vite to help with drying and to make it smoother.

So, I am already 1/3 of the way through the 30 Day Challenge. Time has flown by! Today's theme is Gradient, and since I am a sucker for a nice glitter gradient, that is what I wanted to show you all. I was super busy today and almost forgot to post, so I am giving you my Day 10 nails only 20 minutes before it is technically Day 11. Oops :)

For this gradient, I used multiple polish types and brands. I started with a base of blue and slowly added different silver glitters. Then I topped it with Seche Vite to smooth it out. Take a look!

It's Day 3 of the 30 Day Challenge already! I have a feeling this whole thing is going to fly by pretty quickly. Now yellow is another color I only have a few of in my stash. It's a pretty color, but most yellows don't do much for my skin tone. I think yellow looks beautiful on dark skin, but on mine I think it often makes me look sallow.

However, Kleancolor Holo Yellow looks alright. Kleancolor has a whole bunch of these Holo polishes, and I have them all! They are really pretty base colors filled with holographic glitters. I was really worried that Holo Yellow would be crazy sheer, but it was incredibly opaque! It only took 2 coats to look lovely. I was quite happily surprised.


All in all, I like this polish. I am not completely sure yet if I will end up keeping it. Like I said, I don't wear a lot of yellow. Then again, it might be good for nail art purposes. What do you think?

Today I have disco nails! I am seriously loving this mani. I recently snatched up Nfu Oh 61 and killed a MAJOR lemming. I wore it the other day but it chipped a bit before I could take pictures, so I slapped on a coat of Kleancolor Chunky Silver today. Chunky Silver is awesome -- super big siver hex glitter along with some smaller silver glitter in a clear base.

These looks so beautiful in the sun. This is definitely one of my favorite manis ever! The Kleancolor did kill a bit of the holo effect, but it is still so pretty and sparkly.

Today I have another Kleancolor for everyone. This one is part of the Holo polishes Kleancolor offers, and is called Holo Pink. I wish that the name were more exciting, but the lacquer is beautiful nonetheless. Holo Pink has that same gel-like consistency as Born to the Purple, which I reviewed recently. I'm not sure if that is just how all Kleancolor polishes are, or if it's just these two. Either way, it was easy to apply and two coats was enough for a nice even finish.

Holo Pink is a creamy pink polish with lots of scattered holographic glitter. The glitter looks really great indoors, but when you go outside it becomes outstanding! It isn't a linear holo, but it is beautiful as it is. The glitter adds a uniqueness to this lacquer.

What do you think of Holo Pink? I am really liking it. It is girly but it has something extra due to the pretty glitter.

Also, I just received 2 grams of Spectraflair pigment in the mail yesterday. Tonight I played mad scientist and mixed up a holographic topcoat and my first ever Spectraflair franken. I can't wait to show it off!

I recently received my first Kleancolors ever, which I purchased from BeautyJoint.com . I had heard mixed reviews about their packaging, but mine was great! They are bubble wrap masters! Everything arrived in pristine condition, and they even included three extra polishes as a free gift. I'll be reviewing those along with everything else in time. For today, we have Born to the Purple, a magenta jelly with big purple hex glitter.

Application wasn't bad, but it wasn't super easy either. The polish is very gel-like in consistency and the coats were very thick. However, the glitter spread really well and I didn't have to struggle to get some on each nail. I did two coats for the following pictures, and added Seche Vite on top to help the thick polish dry.
