Essie Beach Bum Blu

Hey, guys and gals! Sorry for the delay in posts -- I am nearing final exams at college so it has been pretty busy!

When I first went to apply Essie Beach Bum Blu, I had some buyer's remorse looking at it in the bottle. I was a bit worried that it would be a frosty mess. However, Beach Bum Blu ended up being a great surprise! The aqua blue color is gorgeous and the finish is metallic, NOT frosty. Thank the nail polish gods!

I was amazed by the mirror-like shine on this polish. The brushstrokes are hardly visible, so you end up with a gorgeous metallic aqua. Essie Beach Bum Blu is absolutely lovely!

OPI Dating a Royal + Glittah!

Here is another classic blue polish. Dating a Royal is one of my most favorite OPI's. It is a medium royal blue jelly crème that applies wonderfully in 2 coats. I really like the color because it is bright without being too attention-grabbing. Like a neutral blue, if there is such a thing!

I added a bling accent nail with Kleancolor Afternoon Picnic. Kleancolor makes some amazing (and cheap!) glitters, and this is one of them. Afternoon Picnic has a super sheer gray base and TONS of glitter. Multiple sizes of hex glitters, and lots of different colors. I see silver, pink, blue, gold, green, and orange! I kind of dabbed it on, as opposed to your traditional painting motion of nail polish application. What you see is 2 "coats" of the glitter over 2 coats of OPI Dating a Royal.

I am so in love with Afternoon Picnic. The glitter is stunning! So many different shapes and colors of hexes! I will say that Kleancolor polishes take a while to dry on me. Because this glitter has some larger hexes, I added 2 coats of Seche Vite to help with drying and to make it smoother.

Nail the B.Y.T.C.H. Jelly Jeans Queen

Today I am starting off the week with a new brand called Nail the B.Y.T.C.H. Founded by 2 cousins, the brand is definitely a lot more serious than the name might make you think. Their moniker stands for Be Your True Creative Heroine. The line is all about being bold and expressive, and the colors are definitely fitting.

Here I am wearing Jelly Jeans Queen, a gorgeous dusty blue polish with blue shimmer. Application was easy as pie, just 2 thin coats. I did not know what to expect, but was definitely impressed! The brush was nice too, nothing overly wide or stiff. Take a look at this pretty polish.

Such pretty shimmer!

I am thoroughly impressed by Nail the B.Y.T.C.H. Jelly Jeans Queen. I have no other polish quite like it, application was good, and there is a lovely ideology behind the brand. Plus, the bottles and color names are super cute!

Nail the B.Y.T.C.H. polishes are 3 Free and can be purchased HERE for $6.00 each.

Color Club Otherworldly

So, I forgot that I already had posted this color and re-photographed it! However, I think that it is pretty enough to warrant another post :)

Color Club Otherworldly has a very unique type of glitter. The glitter dries matte, instead of resting on top and being shiny. The color is very bright blue that also dries matte. However, when I added Seche Vite, Otherworldly almost becomes jelly looking. Very unique polish!

I definitely consider this polish and the rest of this collection to be odd ducks. Pretty, but a bit odd. However, I was really happy with the overall look when I wore this. I mean, I photographed it TWICE! Haha :)

Revlon Waterfall

Hey, guys and gals! Happy Hump Day!

Today's polish, Revlon Waterfall, is a mini bottle that was given to me in a set by my lovely Grandma B. The set also contains 2 other minis, a gorgeous light green and a silver holo glitter topcoat. I believe this set is out of most Walgreen's stores by now, but you might get lucky and find it in the clearance aisle!

Revlon Waterfall is a light blue polish with shimmer. The shimmer seems to be blue, silver, and maybe purple in the bottle. Sadly, most of that gets lost on the nail. :( Still, the shimmer adds some depth to Waterfall. Here I am wearing 3 thin coats.

This is a very clean and fresh looking polish for Spring, but it makes me sad when shimmer gets lost :( I  still like the final look, but I wish it had more complexity from the shimmer.

China Glaze First Mate

Today's blue is my absolute favorite navy polish: China Glaze First Mate. This dark blue crème is awesome! It applies evenly in 1 thick coat, or 2 thin ones. Everyone loves a one coat wonder! Plus, the color is just that perfect, classy shade of navy blue.

You may notice my nails are shorter :( I had a bad break on one and had to file them all down and round them off. But I figure you're here for the beautiful colors, not the length of my nails, so take a look at this lovely navy.

So shiny you can see my reflection!

So there you have it -- the perfect navy crème. China Glaze made a gorgeous blue in First Mate. It is super wearable and clean looking, and the nautical name is extra cute.

BB Couture Prince Charming Blue

Another April day, another blue. Today's blue is a true beauty. This is my one and only BB Couture polish, but I hope to soon buy it some friends.

BB Couture Prince Charming Blue is an extremely bright, electric shade of blue with a lot of shimmer. In fact, it pretty much matches that signature blue cap on every BB Couture polish. I was worried it might look a bit frosty, but it does not at all! Instead, you end up with a super bright and smooth looking blue. Here I am wearing 2 easy coats and Seche Vite.

I love love love this color. It is so vibrant. It looks bright in these pictures, but it is even more electric in real life. Definitely a stunner!

Autism Awareness Month Begins with Julep Jessica

April is Autism Awareness Month, and I am doing my tiny little part to "Light It Up Blue" for awareness. Along with many other amazing nail bloggers, I will be posting only blue for the remainder of April.

Autism is a spectrum disorder that affects millions of families. That's why it is so important to raise awareness about this disorder and what it means. To learn more, take a look at Autism Speaks.

Now, on to the first blue polish of the month. This is Julep Jessica, a gorgeous baby blue crème. It is amazing how creamy this looks. It is that perfect baby blue shade that you see on baby clothes, and I have nothing quite so soft in my collection. Here I have it shown at 2 coats.

Isn't it so soft looking? Sometimes blue can look a bit crazy, but I think this is about as professional as blue can get. It is a really nice shade. Application was good too. Julep Jessica was surprisingly well pigmented. Not too streaky either, which is nice for a pastel.

I received this polish in my April Maven box. If you'd like to become a Julep Maven, click here to use my referral link and get your first box for a great price!

Finger Paints Twisted

Hi there! Sorry for the slow posts on my end. I have been busy! However, I have lots of blues planned for April, as it is Autism Awareness Month. Before that though, I am going to post some of the manicures I have in my nail folder.

This is 2 coats of OPI Don't Know...Beets Me! and 1 coat of Finger Paints Twisted. I mattefied the whole look with Orly Matte Top, but I had some serious drying problems and it dented like 3 hours later :(

I am really sad that I dented this manicure not long after taking the pictures. It was so pretty and perfect for Spring. I think I need to find a new matte top coat, because the Orly has been giving me trouble. Any suggestions?
